If you’ve been feeling like life is moving a little too fast lately… this week’s episode is for you.

In the newest episode of Joyfully Empowered, I share something delightfully simple, but wildly transformational: the power of micro-moments—those tiny, fleeting experiences that have the power to completely shift your energy of our day.

And let’s be honest: for many of us—moms, leaders, dreamers—it’s not realistic to wait until we can book the full spa day or have hours of quiet. We need joy that meets us in real life. In the car. At school drop-off. Between meetings. Before dinner.

And that’s where micro-moments come in 🪩🥳


✨ What Are Micro-Moments? ✨

Micro-moments are those brief, sensory sparks that ground us in joy, presence, or connection. Think:

  • The warmth of your coffee mug in your palms (cozy, cozy, never fails!)

  • A breeze across your skin as you step outside (ahh that spring air)

  • Your child’s giggle from the next room (this melts me every time!)

  • A whiff of your favorite oil (I’ve been obsessed with the almond body oil from L’Occitane lately—pure delight)

They’re simple. Subtle. And powerful.

Why they matter:
Your nervous system remembers joy. These moments become your emotional savings account—something to pull from when life gets heavy or hard.

They build your resiliency, your gratitude, and your capacity for pleasure.

And this is something we all need. This is something we all are responsible for strengthening and that’s exactly what I am sharing today.

🛠️ How to Create Micro-Moments (Even on the Busiest Days)

These are the three go-to tools I share in the episode that I personally use to stay grounded and joyful—no matter what the day looks like.

1. The Pause Practice
Take 30 seconds, three times a day.
Stop. Breathe. Feel.
Notice what’s around you: the light, the sounds, the air on your skin.
That’s it.

2. Sensory Anchoring
Choose a joy cue from one of your senses: a scent, texture, taste or sound.
Use it intentionally—maybe it’s your hand lotion, a mantra, or a velvet scrunchie you wear on your wrist. Let it anchor you back into presence.

3. Micro Gratitude Journal
At night(or anytime during the day!) write down 3 small joys from your day. No big wins needed. (You can also just think them if you don’t have your journal with you)
In our family, we’ve made this a nighttime ritual. My husband, Dylan Joy, and I each share our favorite moments from the day before bed. We always have more than one. 💛

The magic of micro-moments is that they don’t require anything extra from you—only your attention.
